Fall Break for the Geezers - October 30 (Last Day in Paris and on to London!)

Oh, Paris!  Rain was not in our plans today for strolling through your beautiful city!  Not through the Champs-Elysees shopping district...  ...not as we made our way to the Louvre ...  ...not as we made it to the Louvre and found it was closed on Tuesdays... ..and certainly not as we decided to forgo the long lines at Musee d'Orsay .  Finally made it to a dry destination on a wet river: an enclosed boat cruise on the Seine River . River view of Notre Dame. Views of many bridges - 37 are in the city of Paris. View of the historic monument Pont Alexandre III .   With one last look at the Eiffel Tower from a river perspective.  And time for a fleeting glance of  the replica of the gold flame that is a part of Lady Liberty back in our home country.  (Look for the gold in the center of above picture.) Fall Break for the Geezers - October 29 (Paris!)

We are starting off our day with an art exhibit like none ever seen before! At the Atelier des Lumineres - Paris's first digital art museum - we entered a warehouse for an exhibit of the work of artist Gustav Klimt.  Multiple masterpieces are projected onto the walls, floors and other surfaces.  Anne and Jed had visited Paris this summer and they highly recommended this venue. It was fantastique !!!  There were actually three different series of artwork presented, but the Klimt work was the main emphasis.  While the images were shown, classical music was played.  Sight and sound together meant the senses were well served!  The third "show" was all techno and in black and white. By now it was lunchtime, and we were hungry and in search of a casual, quick bite to eat.
