Fall Break for the Geezers - October 30 (Last Day in Paris and on to London!)
Oh, Paris! Rain was not in our plans today for strolling through your beautiful city!
Not through the Champs-Elysees shopping district...
...not as we made our way to the Louvre...
...not as we made it to the Louvre and found it was closed on Tuesdays...
..and certainly not as we decided to forgo the long lines at Musee d'Orsay.
Finally made it to a dry destination on a wet river: an enclosed boat cruise on the Seine River.
River view of Notre Dame.
Views of many bridges - 37 are in the city of Paris.
View of the historic monument Pont Alexandre III.
With one last look at the Eiffel Tower from a river perspective.
And time for a fleeting glance of the replica of the gold flame that is a part of Lady Liberty back in our home country. (Look for the gold in the center of above picture.)
Before we left, we grabbed a last cup of hot beverage,
made our way to the train station and ate FIVE GUYS burgers,
and as a final purchase bought some tasty French macaroons.
They'd be perfect as a snack on the train to London.
We arrived in London just in time to visit the King's Cross Station to check out
Platform 9 3/4.
Might I say this was the best part of one very wet day for this
Harry Potter fan?
