What a Fine Bunch of Ugly Sweaters

The day before we left Sweden to return home, we had an Ugly Sweater Party at our apartment.       Not only was this a kind of farewell party, but a College Line party with  participants competing to win a gift certificate for this Swedish restaurant near the NPU campus:     Tre Kronor. Funny thing: most of the party guests who wore these sweaters were the Swedes!     Having the students over really helped to clean out our cupboards, refrigerator and freezer, I might add! Party animals that we are, we also played a "Who, What, Where?" game that reviewed so many of the experiences from the past semester. Meanwhile, the voting ballots for the participant wearing the most ugly sweater were being filled out.   Drumroll, please.....the winner is.... ...this Cool Cat with his  "Have a Meowy X-Mas" sweater.  Jesper, Congratulations! Julfest! (Costumes, Food, Program, Dancing - SVF Style)

When we found out there would be an all-school Julfest / Christmas Party, we were both excited...and concerned.  Guests were encouraged to wear Disney-related  costumes to the festivities.  But what to do about costumes? We had to work with what we had:  I had a cobalt blue blazer and Wes had a suit to work with.  Thus, I became Dory (the fish) and Wes became Mr. Banks - as in the original Mary Poppins .  Using leftover felt from Christmas ornaments I made for the Grands (Dala Horses), I whipped up a Dory hat and printed off a Nemo fish.  Done. For Wes,  the red poppy found in London was pinned on his suit coat. He used a necktie knotted in an odd way around his neck, poked up his white shirt collar and used my winter hat with upturned brim and black band (from a scrap in my stash) to cover up the flowers on my winter hat.  Done.  Then we walked over to the party and discovered that people really weren't wearing Disne...
