Two "Mountain (or hill) Top" Experiences: Taberg and Vista Kulle

Due to Wes's teaching schedule, there are available times during the week to get out and about.
We asked the "locals" for suggestions on nearby destinations (Jonkoping area) to see beauty and nature. And they delivered! Both heights were within a half hour - in different directions - of our school location. Both were beautiful destinations!

1. Taberg

It was easy to drive to the summit of this mountain/hill; little hiking was involved.
Let's be honest, we were told this is a great place for fika or a meal. First, the views...

Now the fika out on the overlooking balcony.  Wow-wow-wow!

See that outside corner table on the left? That's where we sat. The rain had stopped
by the time we got there and here's Wes enjoying his cup of coffee and our shared treats.

2. Vista Kulle
Quite by accident we discovered this hiking gem.  We actually were looking for the
"Apple Valley" and took some sort of wrong turn. We kept seeing little markers for Vista Kulle
(Wes thought the translation was "Cool View" so how could we miss taking a little detour?)
and it led past the coast of Landsjon via winding roads and great views.

Once we stopped and got out of the car, we saw this sweet white gazebo.
(It reminded us of the one Elder built on the NP campus years ago.)

Not far from the gazebo was a sign for Vista Kulle. It said something about there not being a true path to climb, and something about climbing at your own risk.  Sounds like an adventure to us so we headed up the steep, rocky path.

See the white gazebo in the distance? Same gazebo.

There was some huffing and puffing going on by this point.

But we made it to the top and had this spectacular view of Lake Vattern.

It's good to press on.
On hikes and in life.
(The translation for kulle is hill, by the way.  But "cool" works just fine, too.)
