Our Visitors Conquer the Matchstick Museum
From an online blurb:
The Match museum
Welcome to the world's only match museum,
which is housed in a beautiful wooden building from 1848 that was the
first match factory in the city. It is located in the beautiful building
that once was the first match factory in Jönköping.
In the museum, living match history is told.
Encounter the people and machines that built up the match industry and
developed it into a global operation. You will find an exciting film and
thousands of matchboxes and labels.
The shop has a wide range of matchboxes, labels, books and much more.
Join us for an exciting journey from tree to finished match. If you´re lucky, you might meet Ivar Kreuger in person.
Welcome to visit the Match Museum!

The Museum is quaint.
The movie is good, even if the narrator says "Jonkoping" with a very odd accent that sounds French.
The machinery is most impressive.
The wax figures in the life-size scenes are very realistic.
The matchbox artwork is upstairs - we somehow have missed this in previous visits.
I liked how the matchbox artwork could be turned into Christmas tree ornaments.
If you come to Jonkoping, it is expected that you visit this museum.
Do not "strike" out by avoiding this museum.
There is no "match" for this museum collection.
I believe The Doors were inspired by this museum when they wrote the song,
